mattress Size guide

Australian mattress sizes

Six standard sizes, what each one measures, and how much room it needs. Measure the room before you choose the bed.

Before you measure

Measure the room, not the bed

Allow at least 600 mm to walk past the bed on any side you need to use, and check the swing of the door and the wardrobe.

Measure the way in

Doorways, stair turns, lift depth and any tight corner. A Super King mattress does not bend.

Add the base

An ensemble or adjustable base adds height. Sitting on the edge should leave your feet flat on the floor.

Check the bed frame

Frames are made to the mattress size, but internal dimensions vary. Take the mattress measurements to the frame, not the other way around.
